Glanerbrook has been inhabited since very early times! The archaeological discoveries made here show that human activities took place during the Neolithic and the Late Middle Ages. West of the stream valley, part of a settlement from the Middle Ages was excavated in 2016. Scientists believe that this settlement extends even further to other parts of the area. Settlement sites from the Neolithic have been excavated on the high ridges along the stream valley north and northeast of the plan area. Because the east of this area has a similar landscape, there is a good chance of even more Neolithic sites.
PLEASE NOTE: The location is located in the park along the Kummenaedestraat in Geleen. This is also where the velodrome of Geleen is located. Parking is available at Glanerbrook, near the park.
