How does it work?
Hiking trails
While walking, keep the phone in your hand. This way you can see where you are. Sound clips (if they occur on the route) are automatically played along the way. When you approach an Archeo location, you will automatically receive a notification on your phone. You can then start the experience.
Cycle routes
Most cycling routes use the junction system. If you follow them, you will also come to the locations of the Archeoroute. There you can experience the story behind the find.
Some cycling routes can also be found in full in the app. Most routes run via the junction system. Then you can also keep your smartphone in your pocket when you're on the go. You just follow the specified nodes.
In places where there is something interesting to report or where there is a location of the Archeoroute, you will be alerted by a signal on your phone. You can then stop at this point to experience the story.
You can also ride the routes with a smartphone holder on your bike. Then you can see exactly where you are on the route along the way.
GPS-tracking
There are 3 ways to use the location icon for GPS tracking.
In the photo below they are placed next to each other.
1: The icon on the far left – the dot with no content.
This is often the default setting. If you see this, the map won't follow you. This may also be the case, for example, because you have manually moved or reduced the size of the card.
2: The middle 2 symbols.
Tapping the empty circle 1 or 2 times will create this situation. The map keeps track of your position and orientation (orientation only if you move fast enough).
3: The 2 symbols on the right.
The map follows your position, but remains north-facing.
If you accidentally disable 2 or 3 by moving the map, tracking on the map will be reactivated with 1 tap of the button.
Safety on the road
Always keep an eye on the traffic when you cycle and listen. You are responsible for a safe situation.
We therefore recommend cycling routes via the junction system. You can then keep your phone in your pocket. As a result, you won't be distracted by looking at your phone while you're on the go.
